Captain Pierre-Marc Deschenes

Captain Pierre-Marc Deschenes was born in Tadoussac, Quebec. His passion for flying developed at a young age, watching the CF-18 Hornets from 3 Wing Bagotville, Québec flying over. In 2006, he joined the Canadian Armed Forces under the Regular Officer Training Program and graduated from Université du Québec à Chicoutimi with a bachelor’s degree in Business.

On completion of his Basic Flying Training in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Captain Deschenes was sent to the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training Program in Wichita Falls, Texas where he received both his Canadian and United-States pilot wings in September 2012. During that time, he had the opportunity to fly the T-38C with the US Air Force. Upon his return to Canada, he became a flying instructor on the CT-156 Harvard-II. He accumulated over 1,600 hours of flying experience in which 1000 were instructional. He earned the A2 level in the instructional category.

Captain Deschenes was selected in 2017 to join 431 (Air Demonstration) Squadron, Canadian Forces Snowbirds. He brings over 2,000 hours of military flying experience to the team and flies the as number Seven Jet, in the Outer Left Wing position in the 2018 show season.
