Canadian Forces Aerospace Warfare Centre

The Canadian Forces Aerospace Warfare Centre (CFAWC) will be the engine of Air Force transformation. CFAWC will become the centre of excellence for aerospace power development, including Concept Development and Experimentation (CD&E) and lessons learned. In addition, CFAWC will develop and maintain the Air Force aerospace power knowledge repository and coordinate efforts to provide advanced synthetic environment and modelling and simulation services to assist CD&E, requirements definition, operational test and evaluation (OT&E) and mission rehearsal.

Vision

To be recognized as the Canadian centre of excellence for aerospace power by acting as a catalyst for aerospace power development and as a steward for aerospace power knowledge.

Through an augmentation and consolidation of aerospace power doctrine development, concept exploration, lessons learned, and aerospace power research and analysis functions the CFAWC will bridge an existing gap in aerospace force development by providing a responsive aerospace power doctrine development process, a robust CD&E capability, and an integrated lessons learned program, enabled by the synthetic environment and knowledge management.

Mission

Ensuring the evolution of Canadian Aerospace Power

The CFAWC will provide the Air Force with knowledge to acquire the right capabilities and develop appropriate doctrine to successfully conduct aerospace operations as we move to the future.

Operational Role

  • Provide doctrine development through exploration of new concepts and experimental analysis
  • Be the centre of excellence for Aerospace Power Education & Training
  • Be the focal point for concept development and experimentation & for exploitation of synthetic environment C2
