General Information

Community 8 Wing/CFB Trenton is located on the Bay of Quinte, within easy driving distance from Ottawa, Kingston and Toronto. Within a few hours drive from the base are the many social, cultural and recreational activities offered by these cities.

While Toronto is home to four professional sports teams (hockey, football, basketball and baseball) and everything a modern metropolis has to offer. Canada's capital city, with its historic Parliament buildings, the Rideau Canal, many festivals and sporting events, a professional hockey team and more than 29 museums, is a fun vacation destination for everyone, at any time of the year.

Closer to CFB Trenton, the City of Quinte West and its surrounding areas provide their own share of activities and facilities. The city of Belleville offers many services as well. The Bay of Quinte, the town of Brighton, and Sandbanks Provincial Park will appeal to those in search of beautiful scenery.

The National Air Force Museum of Canada, Canada's national air force museum, is a must-see for aviation history buffs and those with an interest in CFB Trenton history. It features a unique display of military aircraft and RCAF memorabilia, including a completely restored Halifax bomber.

I take great pleasure in welcoming you to 8 Wing/Canadian Forces Base Trenton.

Service members arriving in Trenton generally associate with fellow workers and adapt to their new job within a short period of time, however, it may take quite a while to discover and fully appreciate many of the local available facilities. It is understood that married service members may face many difficulties such as arranging schooling, securing accommodations or simply seeking out various clubs or interest groups.

To ease in your transition, this resource has been designed as a guide to provide you with information outlining some of the many social, recreational and commercial facilities available to you in the Trenton and surrounding areas.

8 Wing/CFB Trenton is advantageously located in Southern Ontario on the beautiful Bay of Quinte. Its proximity to major facilities, temperate climate and scenic landscape will ensure your tour at Trenton is a most happy and rewarding experience.
