Grob 120A

When prospective Air Force Pilots and Air Navigators arrive at the Southport Aerospace Centre in Portage la Prairies, Manitoba, to begin their training, they first take to the skies in the advanced Grob 120A aircraft. The Grob 120A is an aerobatic, retractable landing gear, side-by-side training aircraft with advanced avionics and a large cockpit than can accommodate a student pilot and an instructor wearing full winter flying clothing and personal safety equipment.

The aircraft are owned and maintained by the Allied Wings consortium, which also provides highly-experienced civilian flight instructors for both the pilot Primary flight training phase and the Air Navigator Visual Flight Rules (VFR) flight training.
