Manitoba Air Cadet Homecoming Gala Dinner

The Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. will hold its Manitoba Air Cadet Homecoming Gala Dinner on Saturday May 8, 2010 at the Marlborough Hotel. This is the League’s second annual fundraising dinner in Winnipeg’s most spectacular Skyview Ballroom.
The Guest of Honour is Fred Penner, who was appointed Honorary Air Marshall by the Air Cadet League of Canada (Manitoba) Inc. in 2009 joining General Walter Natynczyk who was appointed in 2008.
The evening will start at 5:00 p.m. with static displays of the rich history of Air Cadets in Manitoba. The meet and greet starts at 6:00 p.m. Dinner will be served at 7:00 p.m. The live auction will follow dinner.

435 Squadron SAREX

Personnel and two CC-130 Hercules transport aircraft from 17 Wing Winnipeg’s 435 “Chinthe” Transport and Rescue (T&R) Squadron will be conducting a SAREX (Search and Rescue Exercise) in Grande Prairie, AB from 14 -18 May 2010.
During the SAREX, training flights will normally commence and terminate at the Grande Prairie Regional airport (CYQU) with most of the flying activity taking place in the Grande Prairie area. As well, a second training area will be located in the mountainous area to the west of Grande Prairie along the British Columbia-Alberta Border.
In addition to the Winnipeg-based personnel, there will also be participants from Civilian Aeronautical Search and Rescue Association (CASARA) units from Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba and British Columbia; as well as personnel and aircraft from the 39th Rescue Squadron (RQS), United States Air Force Reserve (USAFR), 920th Rescue Wing (RQW), from Patrick Air Force Base, Florida.
